Cosmetology Course Description
Express your creativity and talent in hair, skin and nail care. The Cosmetology program teaches essential skills and provides comprehensive practice of hands-on skills and theory. Students work with mannequins, live models and clients. This includes:
Hair cutting / design
Chemical services
Hair color / hi- lite
Nails and skin care
Perming
Artificial nails
Waxing
Make-up
Product / sales knowledge
Client services / business skills
This is a 1500 hour program. The first 350 hours are spent in the Jr. classroom. Once you have finished you are considered a Sr. Student and are ready to work with the public on the clinic floor.
Hair
One of the most recognized trainings in Cosmetology is hair care. You will learn how to do perms, all over color, foiling, hair cutting design and techniques, wash and styles, updo’s, color correcting, product usage, and product sales and knowledge.
Skin
Skin care training focuses on facials, skin analysis, massage for the face, hair removal, (waxing), and skin nutrition. Aromatherapy, makeup application, product usage, product sales and knowledge are also included in skin care training.
Nail Care
Learn all about nail care and how to perform pedicures and manicures. Our students learn how to apply nail polish, filing, buffing, trimming, and cuticle care. Nail art, acrylic nail application and removal, sculpting, nail disorders and diseases are also a focus of this course. Sanitation, safety, precautions, and product knowledge are the cornerstones of this course.
Eyelash Extension Training
Eyelash extensions are the latest trend in the beauty industry. As a cosmetology or esthetician student, you should always be on the forefront of current beauty trends. By taking this course, you’ll be ahead of the competition when you graduate. Once completed, you will become certified in Eyelash Extensions and be able to perform them in your school. As a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist, you will be an esteemed professional applying lash extensions on your new clients.
Course Hours
Full-Time Cosmetology Student: 35-40 hours are required per week.
Part-Time Cosmetology Student: 20-40 hours are required per week.
1500 Hours (first 350 spent in class room as a junior student, the rest are spent out on the floor as a senior student working on clients).
Every other Saturday is required, after completing your first 350 hours of training.
School Hours
9:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday
8:30 am – 4:00 pm Saturday
Requirements
All French Academy Students must pass with a minimum of 80% grade level in all Subjects.
Dress Code
Black pants, skirt or dresses.
Black, white or gray shirt.
No sleeveless shirts.
Totally enclosed black shoes, height is up to you.
Apron and name tag (that are provided) must be worn at all times.

80 -100 Satisfactory/Passing
79-& below Unsatisfactory/ Failing

A non-refundable Application fee of $100.00 is due the day student signs Enrollment Agreement contract.
